Thanks Geoff for filling in the details! I've had the pleasure of visiting
Australian beekeepers each of the past three years. It is hard for US
beekeepers to understand just how different beekeeping is in Australia! The
flows that you chase (mostly in tall trees), the erratic bloom of those
trees, the amount of nectar, the variability in pollen quality, the
dependence upon natural forests rather than cropland, the timing of the
flows, etc, are completely different than anything that we experience.
And thus your management, and many of your beekeeping issues, are very
different from ours (aside from you still not having varroa).
