Time Team America just finished shooting their first season which will air on PBS tentatively in 2009. The sites included a range of time periods and regions. The production team is now gathering a list of potential sites for an anticipated second season. The types of sites that work best for this sort of show are ones where you can use geophysics to direct the archaeology and ultimately, answer a question(s) in three days. The entire premise behind the show is to arrive on a known site with a team of professional archaeologists/geophysisicts and focus on the area where the site's archaeologists have directed us to investigate. We appreciate that we are only visitors and the principal investigators/directors retain control of where and how we excavate.

The ultimate goal is to move the archaeology forward by contributing to what is already known and provide the archaeologists with a three day geofizz survey of their site. Unlike traditional documentaries, this show documents the "process" of archaeology including the exciting finds as well as the disappointments. The format is identical to the UK Time Team show which is in its 17th season.

At this time, the producers are interested in obtaining contact information and potential leads on sites located in New England. They are also interested in potential brothel (vice sites) and Civil War sites. Suggestions on other significant sites that would be interesting to a broad audience are also encouraged. Please contact me off this list with any suggestions, leads, or questions.

Thank you,

Julie
