Those pollen beetles look different than those we see in Midwest hives but
are the same coloration as most SHB I have seen. A quarter inch is the
length of the SHB . Our pollen beetles are longer ( 3/8 to 1/2 inch long)
We see most pollen beetles in dead outs in late summers working on stored
pollen which is "dusting".
I have never seen a pollen beetle reproduce in a hive. Have others?
