That should be our collective fear.  In my circle of beekeeping associates 
we are having more that need a cane to get around and can no longer lift a 
full super.  Even with the new upswing in interest in beekeeping, only a few 
seem to be in the Pepsi generation.

Our local association went from 40 members to 115 members in the last two 
years.  The average age went from 62 to 59 - well, something like that. 
Interest is up, but the population is not getting significantly younger.

I suspect that we will continue to have academics who have a scholarly 
interest in bees,  but if we fail to attract the young blood will we run out 
of journeyman beekeepers?
