You might check with Swaner Eco-center in Park City, Utah. I am not sure what technology powers their
Preserving the Balance exhibit, but it seems similar. The screen shows a topo map of the 1,200 acre wetlands preserve. You can touch triangles on the screen to zoom into different areas and explore a variety of topics from the wildlife in that area to restoration activities. It feels a little like a virtual tour with your own guide. I have used it over and over and find it to be a wonderful format for sharing information while letting the visitor choose what they want to know. It also seems to have broad appeal across the various age groups.

Please reply to all. This is a new technology that we here at COSI are
interested in but have not quite figured out how we would want to use
it. Any videos that you had demonstrating the technology would be great
too!

Thanks,

Michael

Hi!
The National Center for Atmospheric Research has just received a
Microsoft Surfaceİ --- touchscreen computer table. We would be very
interested in hearing from any of you who has expertise/experience on
the use of the following technology interfaces for visitors on the
museum floor:

1. Microsoft Surfaceİ -- Are you using one now or planning to obtain
one? If so how is it or how will it be used?

2. Touch screens -- Do you use them to allow to visitors to explore
science topics? How successful is that?

Thank you!
Linda
