Hi all,
We are developing a program with two equally important goals (a) serve
mission, and (b) raise cash. We are putting together a day-long program
for teachers on media, particularly film) in the classroom that would
include a really good keynote speaker (that's the mission part). We
hope we can attract someone who could also draw a public audience
(separate fee, open to the public, that's the cash part.) Anyone have
any ideas who could fit the bill?
In the interest of full disclosure, we are joint project between UMass
and the National Park Service. Ken Burns is finishing up a new film on
the Park Service and we are trying to leverage our connection to get
him. HOWEVER, we are not sure that he would come, etc. so we are
looking at alternatives.
Thanks, and complicated as usual,
Beryl
