Pete, if the "experimental" variety had a gene inserted to make, say, a
toxin or human hormone, then rice seed that resulted elsewhere from
windblown pollen from the experimental strain, then grown the next year,
could potentially be harmful to the consumer. That would meet my definition
of "contaminated."
