Hello,
We are a team of students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute working on a project dealing with non-formal education. Our project is to develop and administer a series of surveys to assess the impacts of non-formal education programs on student attitudes toward science and their comprehension of the subject matter. Our project deals with workshops for school-age students that utilize an interactive and hands-on style of teaching.
In order to analyze the impacts of these programs we need to gather data about student interest in science, both before and after the workshops. We are hoping to determine answers from professionals to the following questions:
* What are the goals/objectives of your programs (or programs you are familiar with)?
* What elements do you believe make successful (i.e. improved student science interest/comprehension) programs?
* How do you assess whether a program is successful?
* What do students care about the most when experiencing a science program?
Our hope is that this information can be used to help in guiding the development our methods and plan of study. We thank you in advance for your help!
Regards,
Dan DeCiero
