Hello Dave,

I only feel qualified to reply to one of your questions. You can easily mix
an essential oil or mix of essential oils into sugar syrup by using an
emulsifier.

A cheap alternative is the product known as TWEEN 80 which belongs to the
chemical group of polysorbates. Another alternative is CREMOPHOR (PEG-
HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL) which also works well but it is more expensive.

Both are grade food emulsifiers and should be used in very small quantities.
You just stir a tiny amount of them with your essential oils, until they
become a single uniform mixture, then add water and stir again until you get
a milky uniform substance.

You are now ready to add this concoction into your sugar syrup. Stir a
little bit more and you get a decent dispersion of the essential oils.

Good luck!
