I ran across the "Rotating beehive" which the inventor claims to accomplish a reduction in mites and swarm cells.
It's amazing what beekeepers can come up with. Gave me the grins.
I guess with the days getting longer, it's the beginning of the new bee year. Our bees are brooding up nicely in Florida and the boys are putting the patties and feed on.
Out of my five new breeders from Glenns, only one has survived. Not to worry. Lot's to pick from from production stock.
We are going to try out Oxalic drip this month in Florida as we start putting patties on in our continuing battle to keep our mite population very low. The bees waiting in the snow to ship to California have very few bees on the bottom board and I see this as a good sign of general health. Dave just has to keep the snow pushed back so we can get to them.
Hope to see some of you in Orlando. Sharon and I hope to get there to see friends. I also want to visit with Randy.
Have you seen the new "beetle blaster" that our friend and neighbor Lawrence Cutts invented? Quite cheap and effective, I'm told.
