I wonder if this could also be happening by the native bees having contact
with honey bee hives and products. Here in Australia it is common to see
native Trigona bees entering honey bee hives and robbing honey. Also our
native leaf cutter bees work the wax and propolis if left around. So with
deadouts, your native bees could also have access to honey and wax which has
residues in it.
