Hello All,
Heading back into the bee yards but happy to report the two yards which had
problems (reported by me on BEE-L a few weeks ago) are turning around. So
far two gallons of feed and two pollen patties.
Dave Hackenberg told me ( phone personal conversation) that adding fall
patties has really helped in areas in which the bees are bringing in
contaminated pollen.
I observed the amount of corn pollen on bees legs *almost* stopped a few
days after the patties were placed. Corn pollen is in my opinion crap ( and
corn in my opinion is even a poor feed as compared to what's available for
livestock due to low protein) My bees jumped right on the patties!
Ever since then I have adapted his method with success.
