Elton, we had a long-standing relationship with our local NBC affiliate where a meteorologist would visit the Museum on a weekly basis for a program called Weather Wonders. We did a small demonstration around weather and the children could ask the meteorologist weather questions. The meteorologist brought a video camera and would videotape a small portion of the program, which would be featured on the afternoon news hour. So, while not an exhibit, it may be something to pursue programmatically. The advantage for the station was that they would visit us, rather than visiting individual schools. If they received a request to visit a school, they would suggest that the school group book a visit to the museum on Wednesdays.
Best,
Anne

Hi, All;
We are redoing our weather exhibit area. We currently have a partnership with our local National Weather Service office and have data feeds of their information as well as kiosk weather quiz computers from them, and we have the "standard" weather type exhibits (aeolian landscape, tornado, fluvial storm, and confused sea). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggestions for other small hands-on weather exhibit pieces. I would prefer something that we could fabricate, but off-the-shelf is a possibility.
So, any brilliant ideas, or a concept you have seen somewhere that I can steal?
Your help is much appreciated.
