Dear colleagues,

Can you help me with stats and/or recommendations concerning the  
effect of temporary exhibitions on visitor numbers. Our institution is  
considering developing one new temporary exhibition every year. Has  
your institution evaluated whether (yearly) temporary exhibitions lead  
to repeat visits and/or considerable increase in visitor numbers?  And  
if so, what are the percentages? What is the visitor pay-off: is it  
worth the extra effort/money that goes into developing one temporary  
exhibition a year?
