ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************
Has anyone out there fabricated or worked with a fabricator to design a
hardened case that protects the body and lens of a Scalar
Scope-on-a-Rope video microscope? If so, we'd love to know what you
learned from your experience.
We're revising a low-cost prototype casing (around $150) that will
provide increased protection for the scope and lens, minimize scope
movement, and minimize stress on the electrical wiring/power cord
leaving the scope case. (specifically, we're having trouble with a
stress point where the wires leave the scope--they are degrading way too
fast)
If you have any lessons learned, things to consider or best practices
about a scope casing that you would be willing to share, we'd really
appreciate your input! Thank you!
Kind regards,
Michele
