We have the advantage of having painted wood floors so we can (and do)
lag-bolt exhibits, barriers etc. right to the floor. For semi-permanent
(but movable) fencing we use iron pipe screwed into "T" joints and flanges
that zip into the floor. We feed the pipe through colored pool hose before
we attach it to the "T" joints. It is very colorful, durable, washable and
it provides a bit of cushioning. We set the height at about 2 feet.

Hi all,
We have a new traveling exhibit gallery where we'll be changing out
interactive exhibits three times a year. Our new gallery also serves as the
main pathway between two major parts of our museum (unfortunately we can't
close off the gallery while we de-install/install exhibits).
I'm looking for a durable partition system that we can have up when we are
working on de-installing and installing exhibits. It needs to be safe to use
around children. Ideally it will have locking wheels (but not required) and
be easy to store (not take up a lot of room) when we're not using. I'd like
to find something off-the-shelf with no or few modifications needed instead
of building something from scratch. Again, we'll be using the system 3 times
a year indefinitely.
I estimate that we'll need approximately 40 linear feet of "barricade". It
doesn't have to be tall. In fact, since we're a children's museum, we're
prefer to keep the walls low (as low as 3') so kids can see what we're
doing.
Many thanks in advance,
Sheri
