2010 Conference Call for Workshops
July 29-31, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona

VSA is today’s premier professional organization focusing on all
facets of the visitor experience in museums, zoos, nature centers,
visitor centers, historic sites, parks and other informal learning
settings. We’re committed to understanding and enhancing visitor
experiences in informal learning settings through research,
evaluation, and dialogue.

The Visitor Studies Association Professional Development Committee is
inviting proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with its
annual conference. Pre-conference workshops provide a major
opportunity for professional development and have been attended by
students, evaluators, exhibit and program designers and museum
directors alike. We seek workshop leaders from a broad range of fields
and professions – psychology, sociology, education, museum practice,
tourism and leisure studies, interpretation, cognitive science,
architecture, design, statistics, etc. – to present half-day, full-
day or two-day sessions that are lively, interactive, and offer
participants the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and skills in
studying or enhancing the experiences of visitors in a wide range of
institutions. The workshops are targeting the field of visitor studies
as it applies to museums, libraries, zoos, aquariums, nature centers,
interpretive centers, and other areas that provide engaging and
educational experiences for all audiences.

Visit http://www.visitorstudies.org/index.php?page=conference for
proposal and conference information. The deadline for submission is
Friday, December 18, 2009.
