 ALISSA:
You do this at the National Historical Park in Lowell - first arriving at the visitor center to see overview exhibits, get maps, have a ranger explain the set-up to you and possibly join a tour. Then you take your map and walk off into the city, through a reviving neighborhood of interesting shops (thanks to the park), to visit several different mill sites. It is great fun in good weather. I suggest you talk to the rangers there. They seemed to have a lot of insight into how this set up should work.

do any of you do programs that take your visitors off-site? Our new "green"
educator would like to plan some nature walks in leaving from our front door,
and that's not something we've done. (As opposed to community outreach,
festivals etc, where we go to the event).

I'm curious what sorts of things you do: what works, what's challenging, how far
do you go. Are there any legal issues involved here or insurance concerns?

thanks in advance. a very happy holiday season to all!
