Hi Mary,

I have a pretty good one about how to find the center of gravity of
an odd-shaped flat object. You can use Masonite and cut it into odd
shapes and paint the pieces with chalkboard paint. Drill some holes
along the edges of the shapes in various places. Hang a weight from
a string with a hook above it. Then hang the shape on the hook and
draw a line where the shape meets the string. Turn the shape and
hang it from a different hole. Make another chalk line that
intersects the first. You can do it a third time. If you put a
dowel where all the lines intersect, you should be able to balance
the shape on the dowel. Be sure to have people erase their lines so
someone else can try it.

Good luck!
Anna
