in the UK there is an interesting project called Planet SciCast (a spin-off from Planet Science) which gives young people training to create short films (usually science demos) which they can then share through a website. Take a look at http://www.planet-scicast.com/

Subject: Exhibits and programs about Media
*****************************************************************************
I am looking for examples of exhibits and programs about Media, such as
television, radio, newspapers, magazines, internet, etc. We are hoping
to explore how the media work as well as different ways kids can try
out/use cameras, writing scripts, video editing, and stuff like that.
Has anyone seen anything noteworthy?
