I'm not disagreeing with Paul that these aren't good preservatives - but  
the production of all those railroad ties, telephone poles has resulted in 
some  of the most numerous sites needing cleanup, and clean up is costly -  
the few acres across the street is priced at millions.  MT Pole in Butte  was 
a major Superfund site.
 
3 gallons isn't going to cause widespread problems - but these chemicals do 
 have broad spectrum impacts.  Why continue to use them?
