This came up a couple of times. I am sorry but I don't think honey bees have a collective memory that includes associations connecting certain colors with specific animals. A much simpler explanation is this: Their eye sight is generally poor and a large dark moving object is going to get their attention much more readily than a still one that blends with surroundings. I have worn red, or any number of colors, without incident. I prefer light blue over all the others, but whatever. I will say that fuzzy material is suicide in the beeyard.
