They are extremely common in stored bee boxes, etc in the Calif foothills.
We often see a dozen a day. We learn to recognize the feel of their
extremely strong webs when we are barehanded. Luckily, they are
nonagressive, and generally run from your hand. Their fangs are short, and
can't penetrate gloves.
