A re-enactor friend of mine in Maine, Russ Guibord, thinks that he may be
able to help you with your straight razor query. Russ's email address is

Here's his reply to me:

Kindly send jpg file. We may be able to provide more information on the
particular piece.

There is a tremendous amount of information on the internet. Google
search "straight razor history'

Greetings,

I'm working on an 18th century mission site in Florida and we found and
Iron
object which we had x-rayed and believe based on that to be a straight
razor. I can send anyone who might be able to help a .jpg image of the
x-ray. If anyone has more information on straight razors from this period
or has one of a similar style or know of documentation of ones like these
please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help
