They seem a bit large for curtain cord pulls unless maybe for a large
stage curtain. Another possibility is counterweights for a large clock or
other wind-up mechanism.

A client sent us (lousy) photos of two cast iron objects that appear to
be counter-weights of some sort.  Has anyone ever seen something like
this? The only provenience information we have is that they were found
on two separate but close by house sites in an upland setting in Clayton
County, GA.  They can be seen at:
