Folks,
Although I certainly would not agree with Anita's definition of
"Historical Archaeology" as only the archaeology of the New World -
and I think most would disagree with that rather constrained view - I
believe that she is and was correct in removing the Marco Polo topic,
which is certainly a stretch.
Keeping this list at remotely on topic is a huge deal, and not to be
under-estimated or under-appreciated. If you want to see what
happens when a list-owner refuses to effectively moderate, just go to
ARCH-L, which has devolved to a blog for a half-dozen writers,
trolls, etc. Virtually worthless.
Anita, keep up the good work.
