A question. Are the papers readable only to those who are going to the
conference? I would like to notify our Heritage Council and Heritage
Minister regarding my paper at the session. I can do this by sending them
the link but don't know if the link will work for them. If not I can send
them the paper.
Regards Gaye

Subject: Electronic Symposium SHA 2009
Greetings all,
Jay Stottman and I have organized an electronic symposium for the SHA
2009 in Toronto. Entitled "Places of Meaning, Meaning in Place:
Tangibility, Controversy, and Conscience at Historic Sites," the symposium
will take place in two sessions held in the morning and afternoon on
Saturday January 10, 2009. The idea of an electronic symposium is for the
papers to be made available to those participating in and attending prior to
the session. This allows each presenter to give a brief summary and then
open the floor for questions and discussion.
Almost all of the participants have their contributions now posted at the
following link:
http://www.sha.org/about/conferences/2009es.htm
In addition to these papers, John Jameson and Neil Silberman will also be
providing commentary on the papers and session as a whole as discussants.
We hope that those of you interested in the topic will read the papers and
come join us for some great discussion at the session.
All my best,
Kevin.
