La Asociación Internacional de Arqueólogos del Caribe (IACA) y La Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de la Habana convocan a todos los arqueólogos y profesionales que investigan la temática de la arqueología en el Caribe al XXIII Congreso Internacional de Arqueología del Caribe que se celebrará los días 19 al 26 de julio de 2009 en la Ciudad de la Habana, Cuba.

REQUISITOS PARA LA PRESENTACIÓN DE TRABAJOS:
1. Cada expositor debe presentar un trabajo original, inédito y de relevancia investigativa concerniente a los temas incluidos y aquellos relacionados con la región arqueológica del Caribe.
2. El resumen de las ponencias se enviará en formato digital, en español, inglés o francés, en formato Word, antes del 31 de octubre del 2008.
3. Los textos completos de los trabajos no deben exceder las 10 páginas y se enviarán se enviarán íntegramente antes del 31 de marzo de 2009, para facilitar la traducción oportuna y asegurar la participación
4. Se requiere que los autores indiquen el equipo audiovisual necesario para su presentación
5. Se requiere se envié junto al trabajo un breve resumen curricular del autor

The International Association of Archaeologists of the Caribbean (IACA) and the City Historian’s Office of Havana City announce for all the archaeologists and professionals doing research in Caribbean archaeology the 23rd International Congress on Caribbean Archaeology which will be held from the 19th to 26th July 2009 in Havana City, Cuba.
The following topics will be dealt with during the congress:
1. New theoretical and methodological contributions to the study of Pre-Columbian cultures.
2. Pre-agricultural and agricultural societies. New findings and interpretations.
3. Research on Pre-Columbian technologies.
4. Interpretation and reconstruction of every day’s life in the Caribbean Pre-Columbian societies.
5. Migrations, contact, interaction, transculturation and adaptation models in the pre-colonial and colonial periods.
6. Caribbean archaeology and ethnohistory.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRESENTATION OF PAPERS:
1. Every speaker must present an original, unpublished work relevant to the topics included and to those related to the Caribbean archaeological region.
2. The summary of the papers will be sent in digital format (Microsoft Word file), in Spanish, English or French before 31st October.
3. The full text of the papers will not exceed 10 pages and will be sent completely before 31st March 2009 to facilitate the appropriate translation and ensure its participation.
4. The authors are required to indicate the audiovisual media needed for the presentation.
5. The authors are required to enclose a brief CV to the papers.
