i was just wondering when someone would get around to something like this,
given that they were just marking the 6th anniversary of the opening of
guantanamo; i was thinking more in terms of heritage management, though;
reflecting on how difficult it is to find traces of the berlin wall these
days (and paul barford published an interesting paper a few years ago about
how difficult it was to find the fall of communism in the archaeological
record of the streets of warsaw), and wondering whether guantanamo should be
preserved as evidence for possible trials in the future, or as some sort of
monument (considering, having been open now longer than auschwitz, that
ought to count for something), or even how people could visit there anyway
