Pat, this is exactly what I tell Mums, that their baby is making a very big transition from being fed 24/7. I like to comment that their baby is "amazing", "already" going an hour or two between feeds, and with some longer intervals. They mostly seem to take on the new, positive perspective.
I also ask them when they noticed their baby was most active in the last weeks of pregnancy, and they can see that the baby was awake and active at night *before* birth, when it had nothing to do with how they manage feedings.
By the way, I'm going "nomail" today. So I'll only see messages sent to me privately.
