Dear Bee-L subscribers:
I have been asked by an individual if there is a color guide of pollen
for the United States. I presently have on my shelf "A Colour guide to
pollen loads of the honey bee" by William Kirk (1994) which is a very
good source with nice color plates and scientific names except that is
for plants in the United Kingdom. I also checked the Bee-L archives and
found a message from 1992 that mentioned a book by Dorothy Hodges called
"Pollen Loads of Honey". Yesterday, I Googled the internet for any
website that might contain a color guide of pollen from the U.S., but
have so far had no luck. Does anyone have a reference for either a
website guide or a book/publication that shows pollen colors for plants
found in the U.S.? If so would you mind sharing the information with me,
so that I can pass it along to my cooperator?
Thanks
