1st SAA pXRF Symposium Session Participants, other SAA 2010 pXRF Presenters
and other Interested Parties:

Thank YOU, ALL for the flood of interest shown in the 1st SAA pXRF Symposium
and other pXRF presentations in Sacramento California March 30-April 3rd.
Drs. Meniketti, Tykot and Brackett, Ms . Muros, Mr. Piechota and myself
appreciate the fact that many of you have indicated that you would like to
present on your work at the SAA.

We NOW have over 18 presentations from the 1st and 2nd SHA pXRF Symposia
and 11 presentations scheduled for the 1st SAA pXRF Symposium. These
presentations are on a wide variety of topics dealing with field and
laboratory pXRF and other portable\laboratory instrumentation studies of
prehistoric, historic and classical sites from around the world. Together,
these symposia will TRULY reflect the growth of these technologies in
archaeology. In addition, the 2011 SAA Conference in Sacramento will have
other sessions that have pXRF presentations-a total of over 50 pXRF
presentations.

WOW!!! What a growth in the use of this technology since the pioneering SHA
Archaeochemical session chaired by Dr. Garret Fesler in Sacramento in 2006!

In light of the growth of these technologies and the opportunity for many of
us to get together at SAA, Drs. Brackett, Meniketti and Tykot, Ms. Muros and
myself would like to invite the presenters, Significant Others, and any
Co-Authors\Faculty Advisors that are in attendance at the Conference for the
various pXRF sessions to join us for an INFORMAL "Get Together" of beer and
pizza at a LOCAL pizzeria after Dr. Meniketti's session at 5:00 p.m. on the
afternoon of Friday, April 1st.

The purpose of this event would be non-specific and social so that we can
freely discuss our projects, issues and problems with the technology,
propose protocols for both field and laboratory pXRF studies, talk about
future pXRF activities (symposia and workshops at SHA, SAS, SAA, SCA in
2012) eat some, drink a little, possibly; discuss the recent paper of Dr.
Steve Shackley in the SAA Bulletin (if the discussion doesn't get TOO
heated) and, generally, get to know each other and share ideas while having
FUN and being foolish on April Fool's Day.

If this of interest to a significant number of participants, we can attempt
to get sponsors BUT at this late data it probably will be a LOW COST, buy
your own food and drinks event.

Finally, Thank all of you for your interest in pXRF Technology! Vanessa,
Dennis, Dr. Brackett, Dr. Tykot and Dr. Meniketti are looking forward to
seeing you in Sacramento!

If you are interested in participating or would like further information
please respond by e-mail or feel free to call Dr. Brackett or myself at
WRI's Sonora Office number: (209) 532-3873 so that we can better plan the
event and attempt to get sponsors. Please note that my new e-mail address
