Folks:
As underwater archaeologists and maritime historians we have seen our
field dive ever more deeply into the digital realm both in how we conduct
research and in our publications. Today we are excited to have digital
historian and teaching and learning scholar Dr. T. Mills Kelly as our
guest blogger. Dr. Kelly is an Associate Director of the Center for
History and New Media at George Mason University. His post discusses what
it means to “go digital” and how the digital revolution has challenged so
many assumptions about the way we do what we do. GIS, mobile computing,
and the malleability of online information receive particular attention.
