PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR/SENIOR CULTURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST
(#ABQ1000)

Would you like to work for a company that aspires to live its core values of integrity, compassion, collaboration, fun, client service, and employee ownership?

Parametrix is seeking a Principal Investigator/Senior Cultural Resources Specialist for our Albuquerque office. This is an opportunity for an experienced archaeologist to become an integral team leader for cultural resource projects as well as a collaborative member of multi-disciplinary teams involving NEPA, planning, and natural resources staff. Interest and knowledge of historic archaeology literature and practices is required. The anticipated first assignment for this position is archaeological lead for a mitigation project that includes testing and data recovery excavations and historic research at a twentieth-century historic mining site in northern Idaho. Knowledge and experience with the NEPA process and its integration with Section 106 compliance is also desired. Subsequent assignments could involve management of projects that include a NEPA component as well as cultural and natural resources compliance.

Position duties will include:

 * Project management responsibilities including planning, budgeting, supervising, and conducting cultural resource surveys and testing, data recovery investigations, and exceptional client service
 * Writing, editing, and quality-control review of technical and regulatory compliance reports, research designs, and data-recovery/mitigation plans
 * Participation and collaboration in marketing and development of short-term and long-term strategic planning, particularly in regard to our data recovery/mitigation program
 * Supervision of sample processing and artifact analysis and development of databases
 * Proven experience successfully mentoring and training junior cultural resources staff
 * Proactively integrate with a highly collaborative team

The successful candidate should have experience/expertise in a specific technical specialty such as lithic, ceramic, or faunal analysis; historic archaeology; or GIS; and should meet the Secretary of the Interior's Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards for prehistoric or historic archaeology. This position requires a high degree of collaboration and communication. Degree in anthropology/archaeology is required; advanced degree strongly preferred. Travel is required to work sites.

We have an employee-ownership culture where we seek and value the ideas of employees and challenge each other to reach our greatest potential. Parametrix offers an exceptional benefits package, exciting project work, and a corporate commitment to work/life balance. Please submit a letter of interest and resume through our website.
