Well, as Foucault pointed out, institutions all have a tendency to resemble
each other; but it was the sort of big-metal & concrete construction style
"popular" at the time...
Overall, Cologne is not a particularly attractive city; post-war
reconstruction in most WGermany cities was done pretty quick & cheap & with
little thought about things like aesthetix; & unfortunately, they seem not
to have learned much in the meantime...
