In my own operation, with bees showing substantial resistance to varroa,
spring splitting, a couple of drone trappings, and a bit of Apiguard are
working wonders.
We've been sloppy on timing with the drone trap frames, yet simply cutting
out whatever drone brood is there on regular inspections appears to help. I
hope to run a controlled trial next season.
