Every now and then I see what is a seemingly offhand comment that is in my
mind-loaded-, and I put it in reverse with smoke coming off the tires.
Bob, I know you and the CCD researchers have both been around the block a
couple of times. "In my experience" there are periods that it would be
absolutely unthinkable that bees would not jump on spilled/exposed honey..
At this time I would absolutely make a big deal about no robbing(In the
sense of this being totally unexpected behavior)
Now, In a time of a nice nectar flow you can pour honey on the ground in
front of a hive and they will ignore it.(again, in my experience)
I have always assumed that any CCD researchers comments about lack of
robbing have been made in the context of the above obsevations.
Am I wrong about this?
