Hi All,
I know I am usually one of the ones who ANSWER bottle questions, but this time I am the seeker.
I am working with the TIGHAR group investigating the possible crash site of Amelia Earhart. TIGHAR has been excavating for the last few years and has unearthed a number of glass fragments and complete bottles.
One set of fragments fits together to form an octagonal bottle neck with a continuous-thread finish. Most people look at the reconstruction and think of a catsup bottle, but the glass is ca. .5 cm. thick -- VERY thick for a catsup bottle.
Photos of the reconstructed neck/finish are at:

I welcome any ideas.
Thanks,
Bill
