Cameron, F. 1985. Analysis of Buttons, Clothing Hardware and Textiles of the
Nineteenth Century Chinese Goldminers of Central Otago. B.A. (Hons)
University of Otago.

Looked at buttons from a series of short occupation gold mining sites. She
dates  this type of button to a main period of popularity between 1885-1905
(tailing off to 1870-1925 with another period of popularity  around 1930.
She has double ring edge buttons at Sheung Fong, Chinatown, Hanging Rock and
Arrowtown.

Hello all,

I'm trying to track down some manufacturing info on a brass button
recovered from an early 20th century context.  The button is a 4-hole
sew-through with "DOUBLE RING EDGE" around the front surface.  Any
info/sources is much appreciated.
