Looking over the program, just out, of the Munich Philharmonic, 1999-2000

The above are selections from the 1999 part of the season's program. For
those understandably puzzled by the name Hans Zender (#8,above), he is a
composer and retired conservatory teacher here in Munich. Nice, balanced,
modernisante music; very popular figure in CM circles here.
This is the beginning of Levine-ing of Munich's music. For my part I find
his programming novel and interesting. I'm especially looking forward to
his handling of voices employed in selections, and where these selections
are from opera, then in concert form. But Fodor being Fodor, I'm most
particulary looking forward to Wand doing Bruckner's 8th and to the
performance of Bruch's Moses, which I've never had a chance to experience
before.
