No, just misreading on your part, I think.  He is talking about Ludolf
Nielsen (whom I've never heard), not the famous Carl Nielsen.

Zemlinsky is not bad, by the way, may be worth checking out (the
Lyric symphony for a start) if you are into late-romantic stuff.
