Dear Wise Ones,
As I seem to have found my voice...
I am in the middle of an ongoing "discussion" with the Infection Control Nurse
regarding gowning up to handle the healthy term newborn. She insists that
Virginia State Regs reqiure staff, including LC's, to gown during normal handling
of the newborn in the clinical setting.
I have read the Regs thoroughly and do not concur.
Yes, in the NICU and in cases of known infection etc.
Your feedback is most warmly welcomed.
