The destructive effect is the nastiness that occurs as soon as there is
an incursion of Ligustica genes.
It is selected out by conditions to some extent, but consider how
persistently AHB genes hang on.
The small physical size and small genitalia of ligustica endows a
similar mating preference to AHB...
