I've used a tiny thing called the Viewstream 300 for a couple of projects and found it simple and effective. UK agent is Blackbox AV Ltd. I haven't tried anything too fancy with it. When switched on it just plays and repeats whatever is on its removeable Compact Flash card, in JPG, MPEG1 or MPEG2 formats. Up to eight pushbuttons can be wired to the special connector cable supplied for this purpose. I'm setting this up right now for a current project. I don't anticipate any problems. I'll report back if I do!

Dear all,
I have been trying to find a good programmable solid state media
player for some time now.
I have testet a number of products to play music, images or video but
they all seem to have the following problems:
-The software used to program the player is full of bugs.
-The player is unstabel, unreliable or unable to play the media formats
-Controlling the player with buttons is a mess. There is a lot of
delay and the players need a lot of extra expensive hardware to work.
-The producer is unable, unwilling or uncapable to update software,
firmware or give proper support.
Have you got any experience with a media player that actually do the
job?
