Concerning the problem of providing access to bound printed materials (such as books) in a museum and science center environment, would it be practical to scan in the desired pages and accessing them through any of several mechanisms like computers, book readers, and the like? There is a wealth of experience on making such displays accessible as well as rugged and secure. Furthermore the printed material and diagrams can be enlarged and highlighted.

Has anyone a resource for clear plastic protective covers for books in
exhibitions? Have you found it necessary to tether the books to the
table?
Cheers,
Martin
