There have been some good discussions on the real cost of beekeeping in the archives. The key point is that most
do not really know what the cost is, since many are not businessmen, but beekeepers. The businessman/beekeeper
knows what the cost of doing business is.
Many beekeepers look at what is left over as profit, but fail to include their own labor, medical, retirement,
facilities, utilities, and on and on as part of their costs. If they did, it would be a sobering assessment.
But, even after all that, there does come the most essential point, and it trumps all else- do you enjoy what
you are doing? It is more important to be poor and happy than rich and miserable. I find that most successful
people enjoy what they are doing and have enough money. The money is secondary, which is why it is enough.
