As a post script to my previous mail: pressed comb will still contain a
quantity of honey. This can be recovered and put to good use by breaking it up,
placing in a closed container with honey that was unsuitable for sale (eg from
brood combs), adding herbs according to taste and availability, eg, hops,
citrus fruit or apple juice, fennel seeds. The container is then topped up with
water and yeast added.
After leaving for a week or two in a warm place the liquid product is
siphoned into bottles or a suitable sized barrel. The valuable de-honeyed wax can
be recovered and purified for sale.
The honey beer can be disposed of at the discretion of the brewer!
