In the 70s this statement was used by the baby food industry as a
scare tactic against those mothers who wanted to make their own baby
food. Of course they did not mention the *under 6 months of age*part
because they were pushing solids MUCH earlier than that. Their
argument was that only their own, highly processed foods were safe for
babies to eat.
