Hello,
We have great fun with oobleck (cornstarch and water) here in our Early
Childhood space and in our States of Matter classes. We are planning on
expanding our repertoire by having an oobleck/wave driver experiment for
an outreach booth experience. Instead of stereo speakers, we're using a
wave driver with electric probes to more effectively show wave motion in
the non-newtonian fluid. Does anyone have experience with this sort of
thing? If so, are there issues or problems with using electricity and
oobleck together? What's the likelihood of electric shock if
participants play in the substance? Should we cover it, keep the wave
driver from getting wet, etc?
Thank You,
Andrew Spence
