Hi, Sherry 6/8/2010
During a recent visit to a relative in her late 80s, I was struck by
a snippet of an article (stuck up on the door of a hearing-aid center
in a nursing home) to the effect that hearing loss increases
short-term memory loss. That article persuaded her it was time to
visit an audiologist!
A quick google turned up this powerpoint for a Minn Dept of Aging
workshop
http://www.mnaging.org/odyssey/ppt/Diedrichsen_HearingLossMemoryLoss.ppt.
Perhaps Rich Dietrichsen ([log in to unmask]) or some of
the researchers he cites could help you devise a memorable
interactive along these lines?

>Hi community!
>Just wondering if anyone has any great examples of some interactive,
>even inquiry based exhibits suitable for inclusion in a traveling
>exhibition on Memory/the Brain. I am looking for something that
>could be an anchor, or iconic experience for this grouping and would
>love to hear ideas and suggestions. Thanks!
